Today we will look at concrete and cement :)

Everyone, when did you hear of concrete the most?

Concrete, which is commonly referred to in terms or subjects

such as 'construction' and'architecture', is also a very important material in our lives.

This is because when building a house, it is used to create sturdy walls and finish angled.

I think it was because of concrete that we were able to live in such a quiet and sturdy house!

First of all, let's take a brief look at cement, the main material of concrete.

To put it simply, cement is the most common compound,

a material that hardens when it meets water, and can harden with other materials.

Here, bonding material refers to a material that is used to bond materials

because of its cohesive or adhesive strength.

The following concrete is a mixture made by mixing cement, water, and coarse or coarse aggregates, or adding admixtures as necessary to improve performance, and mixing them in an appropriate ratio.

The etymology of concrete is derived from the Latin word Concretus.

This means 'to push'.

Con- in 'Concrescere' and 'Crescere' as it contains the meaning of to be made,

it can be seen that it is made by complex action of various materials.

Next, let's look at the definition of concrete.

What we usually call concrete is cement concrete.

It refers to a mass of stones made by combining cement and cement pool with sand and gravel.

It can be assumed that these names have been used from around 1900.

In fact, the name is cement concrete, but it contains only 70% aggregate and 30% cement.

Cement plays a role in filling the voids between aggregates.

And, while unhardened concrete has fluidity, concrete that has been hardened by bonding with aggregates has tremendous hardness.

I thought concrete was just a substance and not a mixture.

Because every time I passed through the construction site,

I saw a person's footprints carved on the smooth concrete.

I don't know if it was concrete, but... it was very smooth :)

Finally, let me tell you about the advantages and disadvantages of concrete!

First of all, the downside is that thorough management is required until the concrete hardens.

Therefore, there is a difference in quality depending on the skill level or control level.

It also means that shrinkage can cause cracks.

The hard-hardened cement paste expands by absorbing the moisture around it

when the surrounding is humid, and then releases the moisture

when the surrounding is dry, causing shrinkage.

This is called dry shrinkage. But, there are also advantages!

It is widely used as a building material due to its high compressive strength and excellent durability.

You can also make a formwork just like we made the Dalgona and make it into any shape you want. And because the construction is relatively simple,

it has the advantage of easy maintenance and repair :)

Concrete that will be a big support in our lives, please look forward to our strong home in the future.

Thank you again today :)
