Today, I would like to introduce the clothes and fabrics that warmly wrap our human body!

Textiles, which fall under one of the food, clothing and shelter,

are another precious being to humans.

In fact, it's not just fabrics that become clothes.

There are many materials to make clothes.

We chose the most common fabric among them!

First of all, Fabric is woven with thread, clothes or futons.

Today, I would like to introduce you to clothes and fabrics that warmly wrap our human body!

Textiles, which fall under one of the food, clothing, and shelter, are another precious being for humans. In fact, it's not just fabrics that become clothes.

There are many materials to make clothes. We chose the most common fabric among them!

First of all, fabric is often used in several words, such as cloth, textile, and fabric.

However, each has a slightly different meaning and existence.

Simply put, here Fabric can be made from fibers,

and fibers are the basic unit of yarn and can be called materials.

Textile comes from the Latin words 'textilis' and 'texere', meaning 'woven' and 'woven'.

Fabric refers to something that is woven with thread and that makes it feel like clothes or blankets.

Humans made and worn clothes using bark,

Shall we take a brief look at the birth of fabric and the history of textiles?

First of all, the history of fiber originates from the fact that humans used plants to cover their bodies. Originally, animals were first hunted to protect their bodies by wearing their skins or bark.

However, when you put these raw materials on your body, it will be warm and hurt.

In order to alleviate this discomfort, humans have begun studies to soften rough, hard leather.

Then gradually he learned and mastered the art of making threads

and weaving by tearing the bark or the skin of an animal.

Then, with the outbreak of the Industrial Revolution in England in the 18th century,

the fabric industry developed rapidly.

Since then, synthetic fibers have been developed through research by several chemists,

and they are still actively used in the packaging and clothing industries.

Next, I will talk about the types of fibers!

Fibers can be largely divided into natural fibers, recycled fibers,

synthetic fibers, super fibers and special fibers.

First of all, natural fibers literally mean fibers that come from nature.

It is also the fiber that has been used by mankind for the longest time.

Depending on the length, it is divided into short fibers and long fibers. Natural fibers include cotton, hemp, wool, silk, and mineral fibers.

White cotton wool on the surface of cottonseed

The cottons are made from the white cotton wool on the surface of cotton seeds.

Cotton wool is a very popular material, accounting for 50% of the total fiber usage.

This is because cotton wool is easy to manage and easy to handle.

Cotton has the advantage of being easy to dye because it is highly hygroscopic.

In addition, it absorbs sweat well, so it is comfortable in summer

and has excellent warmth, so it is warm in winter.

And it is a material for clothes that people prefer because it does not generate static electricity

and it feels so soft when it touches our body.

However, if you put it in the dryer and turn it... the clothes become smaller.

When I first bought the dryer, I liked it so smoothly that I put everything in it and turned it around,

but the clothes were all shrunk and got smaller... Be careful!

We recommend turning only towels and underwear if possible :)

Hemp cloth, linen

Hemp is made from plant stems, leaves, and bark, and has a stiff and rough touch.

Some people may be unfamiliar with the word 'ma', but the 'linen' we often hear is 'hemp'.

It has high thermal conductivity and is well ventilated, so it is cool and suitable for use in summer. That's why everyone looks for linen blankets or blouses in summer.

However, as it is so stiff and rough, it wrinkles too well and does not flatten out well by ironing,

so it is often mixed with cotton or rayon.

Here, rayon is made of fibers from wood or shavings using a suitable chemical method.

Hemp includes flax, hemp, and hemp. Hemp is called hemp or hemp, which we have heard and learned a lot from when we were young, and has been used as a fabric for a long time.

And hemp is said to be the oldest fiber in human history!

wool

As I said before, mankind has made clothes by twisting the skins and furs of animals from a long time ago. Among them, it is said that it was made with the most wool.

This is because it is a material that is easy to make and can be mass produced.

Although it is an old fiber, most of all, wool produced from knit in winter is recognized

for its warm and luxurious quality.

The wool can hold a lot of air and is lightweight thanks to a structure called crimp.

However, the scale-shaped scale covering the surface is free from water and contaminants,

and it has the advantage of controlling humidity by absorbing water vapor through fine gaps.

But likewise, if you run the hair in the dryer, it's a big deal!

Be careful because it does not return when it contracts with warm water or steam.

My mother gave me that the clothes became smaller

because my mother mixed the knit with something else.

silk

The silk comes from a cocoon. It is made with thread pulled from the cocoon. It is cold but very soft to the touch. It is also well-known as a high-quality material because it has good elasticity and, above all, its luster is so elegant. Silk is a very unfamiliar word.

It has long been used in high-end costumes by nobles.

Even now, I use it for awards dresses or for luxury :)

It is more hygroscopic than cotton, so it can be dyed well and has a unique shine.

Also, it is difficult to find wrinkles, and if wrinkles are formed, they can be spread out well.

Mineral fiber, which I learned recently, is also called mineral wool. It is literally a fiber that is extracted from minerals, and the most representative one is called'asbestos'. Asbestos means a thread extracted from stone, which means all fibrous silicate minerals distributed in nature. It is resistant to heat and chemicals, and has excellent non-flammability, electrical insulation, and durability. In the fields of construction and electricity, it is said to have been used a lot for insulation, fireproof, and sound-absorbing materials. However, the World Health Organization (WHO) International Cancer Research Institute designated asbestos as a carcinogen and has since been banned.

Do you know why I praise nature?

Because there are so many things to get from nature.

Maybe it's because of clothes from nature that we were able to protect our bodies from the start.

Next time, I'll tell you about the types of fabrics that we didn't finish today :)

Nice work today!
