So far, we have learned in detail about the material fibers of the fabric.

Flexibility / Versatility / Lightweight / Versatility / Adjustment / Atmosphere

I divided it into 6 main types.

 

First, the first feature of the fabric! Flexibility.

 

Once you see the fabric, the curtains that are common in the house,

you can see them flutter when you open the window.

It seems like a ballerina is dancing when he moves freely.

Unlike sturdy and sturdy construction materials,

fabrics do not have any shape and cannot support themselves.

 

However, it has the advantage of being able to produce the shape you want by attaching or hanging it. Fabrics that can be used in various ways also exist as partitions.

Fabrics with such flexibility can bring a sense of life to the space

and create unintended visual phenomena, creating a different atmosphere.

 

For example, a fabric can flutter and change shape by a person passing by for a short time,

thereby showing a sense of life.

 

The second feature of the fabric is its diversity.

 

The fibers that make up the fabric vary greatly in appearance, texture

and properties depending on what material it is made of and how it is processed.

 

For example, changing the thickness of the fabric or changing the way we weave it.

There are two major types of fabric processing: controlling texture and changing shape.

The former is polished and cut, and the latter is wrinkled and burned out.

If fabrics are used in construction materials,

this light weight allows buildings that can only feel hard and cold to be visually soft and warm.

 

Fiber reinforced plastic

 The fourth feature of the fabric is its versatility.

 

Several functions can be added to fibers.

There is a method of coating yarn or fabric or adding a function to the chemical fiber itself,

and this allows it to have performance such as water repellency,

flame retardancy, and antistatic properties.

 

Synthetic fibers were developed in the direction to imitate natural fibers,

but we are developing those that have characteristics

that are not found in existing natural fibers beyond those of natural fibers.

 

In addition, fibers can be combined with several materials

to create complex materials to add functionality.

Examples include fiber reinforced plastic and fiber reinforced concrete.

These are representative composite materials that increase the strength

by adding special fibers such as tamso fiber and glass fiber to concrete and plastic.

The versatility of the fabric and the fiber deserves attention in that it can produce such a variety of functions.

 

The fifth feature of the fabric is its adjustability.

 

Fabrics both contain and diffuse light.

It is also possible to control and control the transmission of light.

You've heard of a blackout curtain.

If you put on a blackout curtain and fall asleep, even in the morning you will feel as if it is day or night. If you use thick, dark fabric or layered layers, you can block light like a blackout curtain,

while using a light and thin fabric allows light to enter the room.

Fabrics that can adjust color and noise according to thickness, transparency, color, etc. make the interior and quality of life beautiful.

 

The final feature of the fabric is its atmosphere.

 

When asked "What do you think is the advantage of the fabric?", many designers answer "warmth".

I think that the comfortable, soft and cozy feeling

that surrounds me is the only charm that fabric can have.

 

Fabric seems to be something that creates warmth as if there is someone

even in a space where no one is present.

Just by adding fabric to concrete or cold building materials, you can experience a cozy atmosphere.

The fabric, which creates a warm atmosphere, goes well with the rest area.
